I have been working in, with and on Latin America for over 30 years, mostly in the northern Andes (Peru and Ecuador) although I have done research with colleagues and graduate students in Chile, Bolivia, Mexico, Costa Rica. My research interests are broadly in the socio-spatial dynamics around state and citizenship formations, the exclusions and marginalizations arising from postcolonial/colonial modern relations of power, and forms of resistance and re-working whether through social movements or an array of development/citizen interventions. I have published on indigenous devvelopment, indigenous women's experiences of development, culture and development, national identities, etc. Currently I'm particularly focused on exploring what decolonisation means from the ground-up in political and social relations.
