Maria Daniela Sanchez Lopez
I am an Economist with an interdisciplinary background in political science, international development and human geography.
With nearly a decade of experience in academic and public policy research, I have worked in international organizations like the United Nations and have a regional specialism in Latin America. The overall aim of my work is to explore the political, social and cultural elements shaping and shaped by the governance of natural resources with an emphasis on the effects of socio-political models such as neoliberalism and the different roles of the State in these processes.
I hold a MA in Development Studies from the Institute of Social Studies (ISS) of Erasmus University Rotterdam in The Netherlands and a Ph.D. in International Development from the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom.
