Member Profiles

Marcelo Lopes de Souza is a Professor at the Department of Geography of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Brazil. He acted as an academic visitor or visiting professor at several universities in Europe (Germany, United Kingdom and Spain) and Latin America (Mexico). He has published sixteen books (twelve monographs and four edited volumes) and more than one hundred and twenty papers and book chapters in several languages covering subjects such as urban theory, the spatial dimension of social movements and political ecology (focusing especially on environmental justice).
