Federico M. Rossi (Ph.D., European University Institute, Italy) is a Research Professor of CONICET at the National University of San Martín, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Rossi is the author of the books: The Poor's Struggle for Political Incorporation (Cambridge University Press, 2017) and La participación de las juventudes hoy (Prometeo, 2009), and the editor of: Social Movement Dynamics (Routledge, 2015) and Reshaping the Political Arena in Latin America (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2018).
The theory for analyzing the popular sectors' quest for inclusion proposed in his book The Poor's Struggle for Political Incorporation originated the edited volume Reshaping the Political Arena in Latin America to further apply his thesis of the second wave of (territorial) incorporation in Latin America.
In addition, Rossi's publications focus on the territorialization of politics, the relational study of social movements - state dynamics and on the historical analysis of strategy making, theorizing the nexus between the pace of long-term historical processes and the strategies and expectations of the actors involved in the process.
Rossi has been visiting researcher at New York University, the University of Brasilia and Singapore Management University, and postdoctoral fellow at Tulane University and the European University Institute.
