PhD student finishing a thesis on quotidian experiences of class formation and state formation under Evo Morales in Bolivia. I spent 17 months living in La Paz and Santa Cruz de la Sierra in 2016-2017 to do my research, which used a ethnographic methodology combined with a Marxist political economy framework. My research thus sits at the intersection of multiple disciplines, namely politics, anthropology, geography and sociology. My research interests include progressive governments, Latin American politics, critical political economy, Marxism and Latin American Marxism, popular economies and political ethnography. I have been funded by an ESRC studentship grant.
