I am an ethnographer, interested in the everyday relations between infrastructure, labour and the city. My PhD (LSE) focused on the maintenance, repair and operation of the Mexico City water grid, taking the labour practices of workers and engineers as sites to interrogate the political ecology of the city. I then moved to the University of Durham to work with Andrés Luque on a project that interrogated the role of digital technology in enabling citizen action in disaster and emergency response in Mexican cities. I will soon start a new position as Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Bath.
